Nick is an experienced intellectual property attorney who routinely assists clients with securing, protecting, and managing their intellectual property assets. Nick’s practice concentrates on the preparation, prosecution, licensing, and strategic counseling of patent applications in the areas of chemical and process engineering, materials science, computer systems and software (including artificial intelligence, immersive environments, cloud computing, and blockchain technologies), telecommunications, healthcare applications, digital health and medical devices, electrical and mechanical arts, and optics.

Nick has worked with both large and small companies in a number of diverse technology areas and regularly prepares and prosecutes patent applications and provides noninfringement and invalidity opinions. Further, he has conducted patentability studies and portfolio due diligence, prepared licensing agreements and joint development agreements, and provided litigation support. He also advises clients on trademarks and other transactional matters.

Before joining the firm, Nick developed his skills in patent work at national law firms focusing on patent preparation and prosecution as well as in-house at a technology company primarily working on patent portfolio development and management as well as litigation matters.

Prior to his legal experience, Nick worked for a number of years at a large information systems and management consulting firm consulting on large technical system implementations and business transformation projects.
