Nexsen Pruet further expands North Carolina capabilities with addition of two highly regarded Raleigh attorneys

Nexsen Pruet, one of the Carolinas’ largest law firms, is pleased to announce that David S. Bradin and Yolanda N. Davis have joined the firm’s Raleigh, North Carolina office. Bradin, an Intellectual Property Special Counsel, and Davis, a Corporate & Tax Associate, further expand Nexsen Pruet’s Triangle presence, following the recent addition of Ross Barnhardt and Bridget Blinn-Spears.

David S. Bradin – Award-winning attorney and scientist

David’s practice primarily focuses on pharmaceuticals, petroleum chemistry, polymer chemistry and biotechnology. He has assisted clients in developing worldwide patent strategies, drafted and procured patents in the U.S. and coordinated patent procurement worldwide. He has also counseled clients with respect to non-infringement, invalidity and freedom to operate issues; negotiated licenses related to intellectual property; coordinated Inter Partes Review; European oppositions; assisted with patent litigation; and conducted due diligence studies and IP audits.

David, a member of the Biotech and Chemical Committee of the IP Section of the North Carolina State Bar Association and long-standing member of the American Chemical Society, has been listed in Intellectual Asset Management’s IAM Patent 1000: The World's Leading Patent Practitioners since 2016.

Before transitioning to the legal industry, David worked as a process development chemist and Adjunct Professor of Chemistry. He is named as an inventor on 10 U.S. patents and received an award from Innocentive for his improved butane tetracarboxylic acid synthesis process.


Yolanda N. Davis – Attorney with first-hand “Big 4” and nonprofit management experience

Yolanda supports corporate clients in transactional matters including corporate governance, compliance, entity structure and formation and commercial agreements with emphasis on small businesses and nonprofit and exempt organizations. Her practice also includes areas of economic development, intellectual property (trademark, copyright and licensing law), banking and finance (small business lending), estate planning and wealth transfer and hemp law.

Before joining Nexsen Pruet, Yolanda worked as a nonprofit and accounting consultant, advising a diverse group of nonprofits and entrepreneurs in business financial management and 501(c)(3) nonprofit administration and management. Her clients included sports philanthropists, human services organizations, private foundations, churches and other religious organizations, schools, financial counseling and money management organizations, start-up charities and small businesses, including a gift boutique, marketing and media company, technology firm and online fashion boutique.

Yolanda received a B.S. degree, magna cum laude, in Biology from Winston-Salem State University before earning a M.S. degree in Accountancy from the Wayne Calloway School of Business and Accountancy at Wake Forest University. After obtaining her masters, she worked for a "Big 4" public accounting firm as a Fortune 500 Business Assurance and Advisory Services professional. Later, she obtained a Graduate Certificate in Nonprofit Management from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte before deciding to attend law school. In 2018, she received her J.D. from Campbell University, Norman A. Wiggins School of Law.

In 2017, Yolanda was the recipient of Nexsen Pruet’s Diversity Scholarship.
