Maynard Nexsen is pleased to announce that Frank S. Stern has joined the firm as a Shareholder in its Employment & Labor practice group in the Greenville office. Stern brings extensive experience representing employers in complex workplace law matters, including litigation, arbitration, and proactive employment counseling.

Throughout his career, Stern has advised employers on a broad range of employment issues and has successfully represented clients before judges, juries, and arbitrators. His practice includes defending and prosecuting matters involving noncompetition agreements, restrictive covenants, trade secrets, and single-plaintiff employment litigation. Prior to joining Maynard Nexsen, he served as a principal at a national law firm, where he developed a reputation for delivering business-focused solutions to workplace challenges.

Stern’s practice focuses on helping employers navigate the increasingly complex legal and regulatory issues affecting the modern workplace. He partners with clients to minimize risk through preventive advice and counseling, while also drawing on his significant trial experience to advocate effectively when disputes arise.

Stern has earned numerous professional recognitions, including selection in The Best Lawyers in America® for Employment Law – Management and Litigation – Labor and Employment (2026), as well as prior recognition in Best Lawyers: Ones to Watch® and Greenville Business Magazine’s Legal Elite rankings.

A Greenville native, Stern is actively involved in the legal and business communities throughout the Upstate. He is a member of the Greenville County Bar Association, the South Carolina State Bar, and the Upstate South Carolina American Inn of Court. He is also a graduate of Leadership Greenville Class 49 and previously served on the Board of Directors for TreesUpstate.

Stern received his J.D. from the University of South Carolina School of Law and his Bachelor of Science from Clemson University.
