Overview

Kane is a highly experienced public finance attorney with extensive industry knowledge and a strong commitment to client service.

He primarily serves as bond counsel to municipalities, counties, boards of education, and public corporations with tax-exempt financings throughout Alabama. Kane's experience in the public education sector makes him uniquely prepared to advise public universities and boards of education on complex tax and financing issues. His education focus extends to his role as a faculty member of the University of Alabama’s academy for finance training for chief school administrators.

Beyond providing his standard bond counsel, Kane also serves as company counsel and bank counsel in letter-of-credit-backed transactions, lender’s counsel in direct placement transactions, and trustee’s counsel.

Kane earned his J.D., magna cum laude, from the University of Alabama School of Law. Prior to attending law school, Kane worked in the Birmingham office of Ernst & Young LLP as an Alabama-licensed Certified Public Accountant (currently inactive).
