Overview
John is a Shareholder in the Firm’s Health Care practice group. He works with his clients to expertly guide them through the complex health care regulatory environment. John has experience representing a broad range of public and private entities, including health care providers, technology companies, and industry-leading global corporations. He advises health care organizations on compliance and corporate matters, negotiates managed care agreements, and leads sophisticated transactions, including mergers, acquisitions, joint ventures, and other complex commercial arrangements.
Prior to joining Maynard Nexsen, he served as a Partner at a global law firm, where his practice focused on the Health and Life Sciences industry. In this role, he advised both domestic and international businesses and handled complex cross-border transactions across the life sciences sector. John continues to draw on his extensive industry experience to deliver strategic, practical solutions for his clients across the country.
John’s legal excellence has earned him consistent recognition throughout his career. He has been named to Best Lawyers in America every year since 2013 and was selected for Business North Carolina’s “Legal Elite” in 2024. Additionally, he was appointed by the North Carolina Bar Association to serve as the leader of the delegations to Argentina in 2008 and Taiwan in 2006.
John earned his J.D. from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill School of Law. He holds a B.A. in Economics from Davidson College.
