Jamie Brabston

Jamie is a Shareholder in the Firm's Government Solutions practice group and is widely recognized for her deep experience, practical counsel, and longstanding relationships. Drawing on her background as both a government consultant and attorney, she advises clients on government contracts, compliance, and employment-related matters. Jamie works closely with federal contractors to navigate complex regulatory requirements and conducts mock compliance assessments to help organizations prepare for audits and investigations.

A trusted advisor to government contractors and employers alike, Jamie counsels clients on compliance, risk mitigation, and the resolution of complex employment and contract-related issues. She has significant experience developing responses to agency complaints and representing clients in investigations involving the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC), the U.S. Department of Labor (DOL), including Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) issues and prevailing wage and benefits issues arising under the Service Contract Act (SCA) and the Davis-Bacon Act (DBA).

Prior to joining Maynard Nexsen, Jamie served as Director and Legal Counsel for Redstone Government Consulting, where she advised government contractors on labor and employment matters, compliance obligations, and workplace challenges. In that role, she became a well-known and respected resource within the contractor community, helping organizations navigate evolving regulatory and contractual requirements.

Jamie also previously served as senior counsel at a boutique labor and employment firm in Alabama and as a shareholder at a Huntsville-based law firm. Her unique combination of private practice and government consulting experience gives her a practical, business-focused perspective that resonates with clients and industry leaders across the region.

In addition to her legal practice, Jamie is a recognized thought leader in the government contracting community. She serves as a trainer and speaker for Federal Publications Seminars' Government Contract Oversight—Audits, Reviews and Investigations program and regularly presents on employment law and compliance topics, including nondiscrimination, anti-harassment, leadership development, and federal contractor obligations. Her visibility within the industry and reputation for delivering practical guidance have made her a sought-after speaker and trusted advisor.
