Hunter M. Drake

Hunter is an Associate in Maynard Nexsen's Government Solutions practice group, where he advises businesses of all sizes on a full range of procurement and contract performance matters.

His practice includes bid protest litigation before the Government Accountability Office, the U.S. Court of Federal Claims, and various federal procuring agencies. He also represents contractors in size and status protests and appeals before the U.S. Small Business Administration, helping clients navigate small business program compliance and eligibility determinations. Hunter additionally handles contractor claims and disputes under the Contract Disputes Act, representing clients before the U.S. Court of Federal Claims and the Boards of Contract Appeals.

Before joining the firm, Hunter served as a summer law clerk at Maynard Nexsen and at a full-service corporate law firm in northern Alabama, where he gained experience across multiple practice areas.

Hunter earned his J.D., magna cum laude, from the University of Alabama School of Law, where he served as a Senior Editor of the Alabama Law Review and developed his appellate advocacy skills as a member of the John A. Campbell Moot Court Board and the Jessup International Moot Court Team. He also served as President of the Alabama Defense Lawyers Association Student Section and was inducted into the Bench & Bar Legal Honor Society. Hunter received his B.A. in Political Science, summa cum laude, from the University of North Alabama, where he served in the Student Government Association's Senate and Judicial branches.
