Maynard Nexsen Adds Securities Litigation Attorney to Financial Services Group

05.13.2025

Maynard Nexsen, a full-service law firm with 31 locations across the United States, is pleased to announce that Stuart Rebish has joined the Firm’s New York office as a Shareholder in the Financial Services practice group.

Stuart brings more than three decades of experience in securities litigation, having worked in the litigation departments at UBS Financial Services and Merrill Lynch, as well as at several New York City law firms. Stuart has also worked in the public sector as an appellate attorney at the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission.

Stuart’s practice focuses on representing financial institutions and their employees in sales practice and employment-related matters in federal and state courts and in arbitration proceedings before the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA). He also has significant experience with internal and regulatory investigations and representing clients in commercial disputes and capital markets litigation, including class actions and shareholder derivative suits.

Stuart regularly pursues expungements for financial advisors and other securities professionals seeking to remove disclosures of arbitrations and customer complaints from their records.

“Stuart is a seasoned litigator with a combination of private sector, in-house and regulatory experience that perfectly aligns with our clients’ needs," said Peter Fruin, Co-Chair of Maynard Nexsen’s Financial Services practice group. "His depth of knowledge in securities litigation and financial regulatory matters will further elevate the capabilities of the Financial Services group."

Licensed in Connecticut and New York, Stuart further expands the group’s capabilities along the East Coast.

Stuart holds a J.D. from Columbia Law School and a B.A. in Economics, summa cum laude, from Georgetown University.
