Overview

Tim McConnell represents employers in employment claims and counsels companies on all manner of employment law issues and day-to-day management considerations. He advises clients on the many issues businesses face related to their workforce, including wage and hour compliance, disciplinary and termination decisions, paid leave, and workplace harassments and discrimination. Tim also regularly defends clients in matters before the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) and related state agencies.

With more than 25 years of experience practicing law, Tim has a nationwide practice and handles cases filed in federal and state courts across the country. 

Experience

Tim McConnell specializes in assisting employers with employment claims and providing guidance on various employment law matters and day-to-day management considerations. He offers advice to clients on a wide range of workforce-related issues, including compliance with wage and hour regulations, disciplinary and termination actions, paid leave policies, and workplace harassment and discrimination concerns. Tim is well-versed in defending clients in proceedings before the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) and similar state agencies.

With over two decades of legal practice, Tim has established a nationwide presence and handles cases brought before federal and state courts throughout the country. 

Tim’s extensive practice includes:

  • Employment Litigation: Defending employers in matters related to Title VII, the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), the Age Discrimination in Employment Act of 1967 (ADEA), the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA), the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA), Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) regulations, and other state-specific employment laws.
  • Employment Law Counseling: Counseling employers on reviewing and auditing employee policies and handbooks, advising on day-to-day employment issues, including discipline, terminations, leave, accommodations for disabilities, and forming and enforcing policies.
  • Training: Conducting training for employers on employment topics, including harassment and discrimination, for employees at all levels. He conducts training for employers across the country, including in New York and California.
  • Internal Investigations: Conducting internal investigations for companies, including investigations related to harassment and discrimination complaints, pay equity issues, and ethical and regulatory compliance.

Each year since 2010, Tim has been recognized by The Best Lawyers in America for Employment Law: Management and Litigation: Labor and Employment.
