Overview

Olivia Fajen advocates for clients in cases involving antitrust and employment issues, as well as litigation related to life, health, disability, and ERISA insurance claims. She represents clients in both federal and state courts in North Carolina. Olivia also defends clients in class actions within the sports industry, including a prominent NCAA Division I conference.

Olivia assists with labor and employment needs, including defending discrimination, wrongful termination, non-compete, and other employment litigation claims. She offers strategic counsel to employers, including large healthcare organizations and commercial enterprises. She advises on matters ranging from employee handbooks and implementing policies and procedures to best practices, and disciplinary decisions.

In her LHD and ERISA practices, Olivia resolves benefits disputes and defends breach of fiduciary and bad faith claims. She also has experience in general insurance coverage disputes.

Olivia graduated from the University of Michigan with distinction and high honors before earning her degree from Duke University School of Law. Business North Carolina named her as one of the Legal Elite for Young Guns in 2019.

Outside Maynard Nexsen

An experienced equestrian, Olivia grew up on a horse farm in Michigan. She welcomes any equine law-related questions. Outside of the office, Olivia enjoys riding her horse, hiking with her dog, and golfing with friends.
