Overview
Olivia Fajen is a member of Maynard Nexsen’s Insurance and Litigation practice groups. Olivia’s litigation practice focuses primarily on insurance coverage/bad faith claims, life, health, disability, and ERISA insurance benefits disputes and rescissions, and commercial disputes. Olivia has also litigated a wide variety of other matters, including employment claims, medical malpractice claims, and class-action antitrust claims in the sports industry. Olivia represents insurers, employers, and other business entities in both state and federal court in North Carolina.
Olivia graduated from the University of Michigan with distinction and high honors with a B.A. in Anthropology-Archaeology. At Michigan, she received University Honors and was a James B. Angell Scholar for seven consecutive semesters. Olivia earned her J.D. from Duke University School of Law, where she served as a Research Editor on the Duke Environmental Law Policy and Forum Journal and was a member of the Environmental Law Society and the Guantanamo Defense Clinic.

Outside Maynard Nexsen
An experienced equestrian, Olivia grew up on a horse farm in Michigan and now lives on a horse farm in North Carolina. Outside of the office, Olivia enjoys spending time with her rowdy toddler boys and riding her horses.
