Mayte Peña

As a seasoned insurance attorney, Mayte brings over a decade of experience defending clients in litigation from inception through final hearing and post-judgment litigation. She focuses her practice on employee benefits litigation, insurance coverage disputes, and general business litigation. Mayte represents insurance carriers in life, health, and disability insurance disputes, including those governed by ERISA.

Prior to joining Maynard Nexsen, Mayte was a Partner at an AmLaw 200 Florida-based law firm. In that role, in addition to her employee benefits litigation practice, she developed and implemented strategic plans for managing mass litigation and defended insurance carriers in breach of contract lawsuits arising from motor vehicle accidents. She also represented businesses in complex litigation involving alleged violations of state and federal statutes.
