Overview

Maryam is an Associate in the Firm’s Employment & Labor practice group. Her practice focuses on counseling companies on compliance with California labor laws throughout the employment lifecycle, from onboarding through separation, including employee handbooks, independent contractor and employment agreements, and workplace policies. She also drafts, negotiates, and reviews a wide range of business agreements, including vendor and customer agreements, terms of service, privacy and data protection policies, and manufacturing agreements.

Prior to joining Maynard Nexsen, Maryam worked as an associate at a California-based law firm, where her practice focused on employment matters. She also previously worked with the Federal Trade Commission’s Bureau of Consumer Protection, where she assisted with federal regulatory litigation. Her background in employment and regulatory matters continues to strengthen the practical, analytical perspective she brings to her labor and employment practice.

Maryam received her J.D. from the University of Southern California Gould School of Law, where she worked as a Notes & Submissions Editor for the Southern California Interdisciplinary Law Journal. She holds her B.A., magna cum laude, in Philosophy from the University of California – Santa Cruz.
