Overview
Jada Young is an Associate in Maynard Nexsen’s Columbia, SC office in the firm’s Employment & Labor practice group. She focuses her practice on both labor and employment law and commercial and complex litigation.
She previously served as a Summer Associate at Maynard Nexsen in 2023 and 2024, where she gained introductory experience in a wide array of practice groups while sharpening her skills in legal research and analysis, prepared internal and external memoranda, wrote academic articles, and collaborated with colleagues on other legal projects focused on defense litigation and transactional matters.
Jada received her J.D., cum laude, from the University of South Carolina School of Law, where she was actively engaged in the law school community. She served as Chief of Staff for the Black Law Students Association, was a member of the Pro Bono Board supporting initiatives for underserved communities, worked as a Student Attorney for the CHAMPs (Carolina Health Advocacy Medicolegal Partnership) Clinic and worked as the Research Editor for the ABA Real Property, Trust and Estate Law Journal. She graduated magna cum laude with a B.A. from the College of Charleston where she focused her studies on Political Science, Public Health, and Life Sciences before she committed to pursuing a career in law.
