Hillary is an accomplished litigation attorney with extensive experience representing clients across a range of industries.
Her practice spans appellate work, domestic and international arbitration, constitutional law, jurisdictional challenges, complex business disputes, corporate governance, B2B litigation, real estate transactions, land use and zoning appeals, intellectual property rights, data security, and software licensing and implementation. She brings strategic insight to every case, advising clients on risk management, dispute avoidance, and contract compliance.
Prior to joining Maynard Nexsen, she served as Counsel at an Atlanta-based law firm, where she led clients through all phases of litigation. Hillary’s years of experience combined with her industry knowledge uniquely position her to handle a broad range of case matters

Experience
- Filed SCOTUS amicis brief on the merits on behalf of world’s largest business organization and other amici regarding “personhood” status of alter ego corporation of India for purposes of entitlement to constitutional due process in U.S. courts.
- Filed SCOTUS amicus brief on the merits on behalf of world’s largest business organization regarding whether Palestinian Authority and PLO are “persons” entitled to constitutional due process in U.S. courts.
- Filed SCOTUS amicus brief on the merits on behalf of world’s largest business organization regarding whether the Due Process Clause permits a court with specific personal jurisdiction over an out-of-state company to exercise in rem jurisdiction over the company’s out-of-territory property.
- Served as lead counsel and filed SCOTUS amicus brief in support of petition for writ of certiorari on behalf of Veterans of Foreign Wars and Afghanistan and Iraq Veterans of American regarding scope of sovereign immunity defense under “combatant activities” exception of the Foreign Tort Claims Act.
- Acted as lead counsel and successfully negotiated settlement in breach of contract and tortious interference case on behalf of recording company pending decision on motion to dismiss for lack of personal jurisdiction in Northern District of Georgia.
- Acted as lead counsel and successfully negotiated settlement in dissenters’ rights action on behalf of minority shareholders in connection with squeeze-out merger of closely-held bank.
- Acted as lead counsel and successfully negotiated settlement on behalf of U.S. furniture company in UCC dispute against Vietnamese and Cambodian manufacturers in the Eastern District of North Carolina.
- Obtained favorable appellate ruling on behalf of cryptocurrency platform in bitcoin fraudulent transfer dispute before the Ninth Circuit.
- Successfully argued cross motions for summary judgment and negotiated settlement on behalf of SaaS provider in software implementation dispute in the Northern District of Georgia.
- Successfully briefed motion for summary judgment to dismiss all claims asserted against financial consulting firm and its members for breach of contract, negligent misrepresentation, and respondeat superior.
- Sat second chair at successful bench trial on behalf of bank/insurance settlements company in death benefits case in the Northern District of Georgia.
- Represented pro bono minors seeking asylum and other protected statuses in immigration courts and U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services proceedings.
