Eric Abels

Eric is an Associate in the Firm’s Complex & Commercial Litigation practice group.  

He brings valuable judicial and appellate experience to his practice, having served in clerkships with the Supreme Court of Texas, a U.S. District Court, and the Office of the Solicitor General of Texas. While with the Texas Solicitor General’s Office, he worked on some of the state’s highest-profile litigation matters before the Supreme Court of the United States, the Supreme Court of Texas, and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit. He also successfully argued a case before the Fifth Circuit. These experiences provided him with insight into judicial decision-making and litigation strategy that he now brings to his work as an associate.

Eric earned his J.D., cum laude, from The Ohio State University Moritz College of Law, where he served as a Note Editor for the Ohio State Journal on Dispute Resolution and as a Senator in the Student Bar Association. He holds a B.A., summa cum laude, from the University of Alabama.
