Overview

Emily Wayne is an Associate with the Firm's Business Litigation practice group. She brings her skills in research and commitment to excellent client service to every matter.

Prior to joining the firm, Emily served as a Law Clerk and Administrative Assistant to the Honorable D. Garrison Hill at the SC Court of Appeals, conducting research and writing and editing opinions and memorandums. She also served as a Summer Clerk and Sports Law Intern at both a local firm as well as a national full-service business firm. During these experiences, Emily edited construction contracts, drafted NCAA coaching contracts, and conducted research in the areas of construction, workers compensation, Title IX matters, and entertainment contracts. 

Emily earned her undergraduate degree from Bowling Green State University, where she graduated summa cum laude and received the President's Award for Academic Achievement. During law school at the University of South Carolina, Emily served on the Editorial Staff for the ABA Real Property, Trust, and Estate Law Journal, as well as worked as a tutor and researcher before graduating cum laude.

  • Assisted clients from California, Utah, North Carolina, and South Carolina with cases in North Carolina and South Carolina, both state and federal
  • Notable: $200,000 sanction order, one of the largest in NC history, for a major Hollywood motion picture studio.
