Overview

Daniel is an associate in Maynard Nexsen’s Trust, Estates, Fiduciary and Family Business practice group. He focuses his practice on wealth management and estate planning in the domestic and international contexts. Daniel has experience with gift and estate tax planning, structuring closely-held businesses, and charitable giving strategies.

He is skilled in drafting wills, revocable trusts, family trusts, annual exclusion gift trusts, dynasty trusts, GRATs, and FLP agreements to maximize tax-efficient planning and the transfer and management of family wealth between generations. 

Daniel is licensed and admitted to practice in South Carolina, Illinois, and Massachusetts. He has experience with domestic estate planning, estate tax returns, probate administration, state tax issues, and international tax issues, specifically, pre-immigration trust planning and exit tax advice.

Prior to joining Maynard Nexsen, Daniel worked at one of the world’s largest international law firms. He later joined his former partners to open an estate planning and wealth management boutique firm serving US-based high-net-worth individuals. 

Daniel holds a J.D., cum laude, from William & Mary Law School and an LL.M. in Taxation from New York University School of Law. He earned his B.A. in Philosophy, summa cum laude, from the University of South Carolina Honors College.

When he’s not in the office, Daniel enjoys playing tennis, watching baseball, and reading.
