Overview

As part of the Intellectual Property practice group, Dr. Cashman helps to prepare and prosecute patent applications and provide other patent-related services, identify inventions through technical discussions with inventors, draft comprehensive patent applications, and shepherd patent applications through the USPTO and other patent offices globally.

Before joining Maynard Nexsen, Dr. Cashman worked in diverse chemistry and bioscience R&D, applications, and quality assurance laboratory roles, gaining more than 10 years of laboratory experience. She also has seven years of experience with technical writing and is a published author with extensive scientific writing and editing experience.

Dr. Cashman earned her B.S. in Chemistry from Davidson College, cum laude, and her Ph.D. in Biochemistry & Molecular Biology from Wake Forest School of Medicine. While earning her Ph.D., Dr. Cashman received the Cheung Award in recognition of her outstanding research achievement in the broad field of biochemistry.

Outside Maynard Nexsen

Outside of the office, Dr. Cashman enjoys running and spending time with her family and their two French bulldogs. She especially loves passing the time with her young son and seeing what adventures they can get into.
