Brett A. Lavoie

Brett Lavoie is a seasoned real estate attorney based in the Firm’s Atlanta office. He has extensive experience advising developers and investors on structuring and implementing development and financing strategies for new projects. Brett’s practice focused on representing clients for a broad range of commercial real estate transactions, focusing on acquiring, disposing of, developing, and financing hotel, office, industrial, multifamily, and mixed-use properties.

Brett frequently negotiates joint ventures, debt and equity financing, and agreements with government authorities. He also represents both borrowers and lenders in complex lending matters, including loan modifications, workout strategies, note purchases and sales, and senior loan facilities. Additionally, he represents landlords in the leasing of office, industrial, and retail properties, including ground leases and build-to-suit leases.

Before joining Maynard Nexsen, Brett co-founded the law firm Miller Lavoie, LLP. In 2025, the firm merged with Maynard Nexsen, further advancing Brett’s commitment to providing exceptional value to clients.
