Bret Salzer

Bret is a seasoned transactional real estate, private equity, and capital markets lawyer with extensive experience representing developers, operators, investors and lenders in a wide range of complex matters.

He has previously represented private equity funds in stock and asset acquisitions exceeding $10 billion, joint venturers in over $2 billion of equity investments, and debt funds, lifecos, and investment banks in the origination of senior loans exceeding $3.5 billion. Bret works across real estate asset classes and seniority levels, providing him with a comprehensive understanding of the industry that informs every transaction he handles.

Bret previously built and led the in-house legal department of a real estate developer and private equity fund operator, gaining perspective as both a legal advisor and business leader. He also served as Associate General Counsel for New York City’s largest office landlord, where he managed complex acquisitions, joint ventures, and financings involving high-value commercial assets.

His blend of private practice and in-house experience continues to drive his results-focused legal practice today.
