Overview

Austin Hagood works in Maynard Nexsen's Huntsville office with the litigation practice group. He believes the law often involves the things that are most important to us and his goal is to not only advise his clients on legal issues but to truly act as a counselor, ensuring that each of his clients’ concerns are listened to and addressed.

He specializes in complex family law matters, with a particular focus on high asset divorce. This work often includes litigation relating to divorce, child custody, protection from abuse, and custody modification, among others.

His prior legal experience includes a range of different litigation work including medical malpractice, pharmaceutical liability, and product liability. He assisted clients with healthcare regulatory compliance matters, which included navigating referral issues, HIPAA compliance, and physician contract negotiation. Austin has extensive courtroom experience throughout North Alabama, helping his clients obtain the results they desire.

After graduating from Birmingham-Southern College with a B.S. in Psychology, he earned his J.D. from the University of Alabama School of Law where he graduated Magna Cum Laude. Austin served on the managing board of the Law and Psychology Law Review, and was the captain of the Healthcare Transactional Moot Court Team for two years. Austin is also an Eagle Scout.
