Addie Smith

Addie is an Associate in the Firm’s Government Solutions and Government Investigations & White Collar Defense practice groups.  

Addie has experience serving as an extern to the Honorable DeAndrea Gist Benjamin of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit, where she conducted legal research, drafted bench memoranda, and attended oral arguments. She also served as a Summer Associate with Maynard Nexsen for two consecutive years, gaining experience conducting legal research and preparing memoranda on litigation and transactional matters. 

Addie earned her J.D., cum laude, from the University of South Carolina School of Law. During law school, she served as Production Editor of the ABA Real Property, Trust and Estate Law Journal and as Recording Secretary of the Black Law Students Association. She holds a B.A., summa cum laude, in Criminal Justice, Social Science, and Psychology from the University of Sioux Falls, where she competed as a member of the Division II women’s volleyball team.
