Maynard Nexsen Adds Former United States Attorney
Maynard Nexsen, a full-service law firm with 24 offices across the United States, is pleased to announce the addition of Jonathan Ross as a Shareholder in the Firm’s Birmingham office as a member of the Government Investigations and White Collar Defense practice group.
Jonathan is a former U.S. Attorney for the Middle District of Alabama. He spent eight years in the office’s Criminal Division, where he prosecuted a variety of cases, focusing primarily on financial crimes and healthcare offenses. Jonathan previously clerked for the Honorable James C. Dever, III of the United States District Court for the Eastern District of North Carolina and the Honorable Frank M. Hull of the United States Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit.
“We are all thrilled to welcome Jonathan to our growing white collar team, and I am personally excited to have such an outstanding lawyer down the hall in Birmingham,” said Erica Barnes, Chair of Maynard Nexsen’s Government Investigations and White Collar Defense practice group. “Jonathan brings a deep wealth of knowledge to our practice from his time in government, but he’s also a great guy and a fantastic cultural fit for us. With deep ties to the Carolinas and a lengthy career in Alabama, he is perfectly positioned to help our clients in the places they call on us most.”
Jonathan holds a J.D. from the Duke University School of Law and a B.A. in Political Science and Religious Studies from the South Carolina Honors College at the University of South Carolina.
