Associate - Litigation | Los Angeles, CA

The Los Angeles, CA office seeks an Associate to join the firm’s Litigation team.

Candidate must have four to seven years of general litigation in state and federal courts.  Significant experience in writing briefs, memos or other legal analysis – 80-90% of our job is good writing.  Additionally, candidate should have deposition and court appearance experience, as well as discovery experience (drafting, responding and motions).  A background in insurance, medical records review (medical malpractice) or other similar background that provides a foundation for insurance and/or the medical aspects of the practice.

Ideal candidates have a demonstrated commitment to the field, strong communication and interpersonal skills, a desire to assume immediate responsibility for matters and experience in a law firm.  Candidate should be motivated, personable, articulate and able to collaborate.  The practice group offers excellent prospects for proactive lawyers.

Strong academic credentials and writing skills are required.  Experience should include law clerk internships and moot court or law review/journal.  Seeking top 20% of graduating class or top 30% for top law schools.

Maynard Nexsen’s compensation in California is aligned with a market-rate salary scale.  The annualized salary range for this position is $185,000-250,000 depending on the candidate’s experience and other job-related factors.  The annual salary is one component of Manyard Nexsen’s total compensation and benefits, which includes a discretionary bonus ranging between $0-$41,000.
